Paul has been a drummer for 20 years, and has been teaching for the past 5 years with students from as young as 8 and up to, well, you’re never too old!
Teaching is based around the Drumsense teaching programme, but Paul aims to put what has been learned in the lesson into practice and encourages students to apply their new skills to music that they are interested in by playing along to.
The teaching environment is a nice bright and clean studio room located at Maplewood Studio where noise is never an issue, so lessons can be at times that suit you best. Paul’s approach to teaching is relaxed and un-pressured; lessons are never rushed as everyone learns at their own pace.
“Teaching is very rewarding for me, I get so much enjoyment seeing students play something that half hour ago told me they couldn’t! I love seeing their confidence grow and the satisfaction they get out of drumming, music is such a rewarding thing to be a part of and learning to express yourself via playing an instrument is magical feeling.” Paul ‘Stick’ Annis

“Paul’s a really friendly tutor. The learning environment is really relaxed and there is no pressure to rush through anything. That said, there is a consistent progression from lesson to lesson and after only a few months I’m playing things I thought it would take me a lot longer to do. I would not hesitate to recommend Paul as a drum tutor”
